The Lines In His Face...
Barden does not make attempts to hide his age. It is apparent upon meeting him that he has been alive longer than many who carry a blade, and it is a fact he fully embraces. This is not to say he is unattractive. While it might be natural to assume he is past his prime, Baraden still sports a physique fit for intense combat and seems to be well-maintained. He would claim it to be from a life spent following the breeze and living by his own code. However, he has been accused of sorcery before. For proof of a life spent in combat, a tapestry of scars covers his body from various injuries throughout the years. The faded lines of ink-worked shoulders and arms have attempted to hide some of the evidence, but nothing short of complete coverage could hide the sheer number of once considerable wounds. Baraden smiles easily and is liberal with his rich, warm laughter. It is said that his brows never crease in anger, and he wears most often an eternal look of patience as if he has all the time in the world left.
What Stories He Tells...
While he wears a blade on his hip, there are seldom few who can say they have seen Baraden draw it for any reason. If asked, he never claims to be a blademaster, nor a combatant. Instead, he always speaks of his other talents in a seemingly endless list that does not involve ever having to come to blows. Baraden is a charmer and has an easy conversation. It is no secret that he adores pretty company, and his comments never go beyond genuine, simple compliments. It should also be noted that he has an exceptional amount of patience and is often a good source of guidance for those who feel lost. Too few have a genuine reason to dislike Baraden, and he prefers to keep it that way. "A long list of enemies does not lead to a long life."
The Hook Brings You Back..
Greetings, Fellow Traveler... - This one would server as a general catch all when a more specialized idea doesn't present itself. Baraden roams the land searching for experience and purpose. It is possible to come across him near anywhere. Just because this is very generalized, do not think we can't come up with something fun! It's only the framework.
Comrades in Arms... - It is certainly possible for Baraden to have met a character fighting against the Garlean Empire during the Ala Mhigan invasion. Back then, he was more combat-focused and had quite a respectable list of achievements during the war effort. I will say, he does not hold any personal ill-will towards the empire, and I would be equally interested in him meeting former enemies once again.
I wish to learn... - Baraden does offer his services as an instructor in a variety of different fields. His goal in life has not only been to accumulate knowledge, but to also pass it on to those who wish to learn more. Teaching the blade is the most obvious, but Baraden is accomplished at many different skills. Rather than list them all, we can discuss what may be enjoyable and see if we can make it fit.
Two Ships Passing in the Night... - It's completely within the realm of possibilities that our characters crossed paths before in some form or fashion. I am willing to be flexible in this scenario, but I would like to state that a romantic history does not mean it will be rekindled. I think old lovers platonically catching up is a very unique way to start building a story together.

Thanks for taking the time to give Baraden a look over. I am a male writer in my thirties with a family, career, and life outside of the game that will always take priority over anything happening in FFXIV, or the RP world in general. I am not interested in anything beyond friendship outside of the story. I do not tolerate red-flag behavior, and I will politely bow out of a situation if I feel uncomfortable or if a line has been crossed. I consider myself a fairly normal, well-adjusted fellow with a passion for cooperative storytelling. As a writer, I enjoy darker themes, but I am not afraid of slice of life or lighthearted adventures in moderation. I do enjoy romantic stories, but I will say that I am choosy with how those come about. Chemistry dictates a lot, and I do not enter into roleplays with the express intent of romantic involvement without a writer I know and trust. For romantic plots, I would prefer writers over twenty-three years old. I would also like to add that Baraden is a heterosexual character, but I hope that would not discourage other male characters from wishing to form friendships.
